The smells in my
home on thanksgiving is suburb! You walk in with the smell of turkey roasting
in the oven. Cinnamon and oranges on the stove. Hot apple cider is a family
favorite! The one smell I like the best is all the pies baking in the oven.
The tastes are warm but
also cold! Pumpkin pie is warm with a touch of sweetness. Black jerry jello is
cold but has a touch of tartness and sweet at the same time. Roast turkey is
hot with a taste of garlic and onions. My favorite taste is cranberry salad
with a hint of tartness but then you get a hint of sweetness at the end!
The sights are wonderful! Babies
crawling and playing with each other! The Macy day parade and all the floats! Food
is one of the best sights with all the verities! But best of sights is family! I
think the Norman Rockwell picture describe my scene very well.
The sounds can be loud, but they are wonderful loudness! Timers our
going off so that we can remember all the food that is cooking. Going around
the table telling of how God blessed us through this last year! The swishing a
spoons stirring the stuffing. Best of all of sounds is the babies’ cooing away
and talking baby talk!
The textures are soft but
also warm! Soft napkins that wipe your gravy stained face, but also to wipe away
tears of joy when you think next year you will have more babies at the table!
Soft babies skin as you hold them! Warm apple pie hitting your tongue! After all
the eating is done the best texture is dry clean dishes!
